Hilton Hotels Corp. has extended some point expiration dates in its Hilton Honors loyalty program while tightening some status requirements, the company has announced. Some changes are an extension of those made in light of the Covid-19 pandemic. Hilton once again will pause point’s expiration, till Dec. 31, 2022. It also will extend Honors status through March 31, 2023, so members can maintain status perks and benefits longer, according to the company. In addition, the company will extend rollover nights for members of every status tier—Silver, Gold or Diamond—so all completed 2021 nights automatically roll over and count toward 2022 tier qualifications. Hilton also has updated its elite status gifting requirements. A member can give a one-time gift of Gold status for a friend or family member at 40 nights versus 30 in 2021. They can gift an upgrade of Diamond status at 70 nights, versus 60 nights in 2021. Both requirements are fewer than what was needed pre-pandemic.
