The preparation:
- Book early
Most importantly, the first time flyers is to book the tickets early. In fact booking tickets 2 to 3 months prior to your journey will also save your pocket. Choose a convenient time for your flight so that you can reach the airport in advance before the scheduled departure.
- Look for discounts
Search through different ticket booking portals to get the best value of your flight. Coupon codes, seasonal discounts and first flyers often get a handsome deal for their air ticket. You can also add up to your savings in case you have a credit card to play with.
- Check for the baggage allowance
Double-check the permissible luggage on board. Each airline has its own baggage provisions which are enlisted in their website. First-time flyers may find this a bit tedious but overweighing your luggage may result in heavy penalty at the time of check-in. So, make sure you go through them before packing your own.
- Do your paperwork properly
Travelers flying abroad should be more careful regarding their ID proofs and other papers. Visa and travel insurance are two other important documents other than passport that you need to take care of.
