Travel packing tips for every traveller

By Maitri

Packing is undoubtedly the most chaotic part of travelling. Confusions of what ‘to-take’ or ‘not-to-take’ keep bothering us at every step while stuffing the trolley bags. Often poor packing plans result in baggage overload which might lead to an awful trip. Following are few travel packing tips for every traveller.

Travel packing list

Before you start packing, if you have a travel packing list, it would be very handy. Enlist only those items which you actually need while on the go. A packing list will ensure that none of the important items are left behind before the trip.

Check your airline baggage allowance

Every airline has its own limitations of hand and cabin luggage. The second travel packing tip confirms that your trolley and backpacks do not cross their allowable limits. Weigh them separately and make sure to stuff those within the permissible values.

Look for smart stuffing ways in travel packing

Look up for smart packing hacks that will further smoothen the process. Tight rolling of clothes will occupy less space in your trolley thus freeing space for other items. You can also use zip lock bags, and packing cubes for systematized packing.

Avoid the gap

Often we plan to leave some extra space in the bag to fit in mementos and souvenirs. But empty corners may often break or crinkle the existing items. You can carry extra totes or plastic bags in those clear spaces and later utilize them for carrying the mementos from the trip.

Pack light, travel more

Avoid heavy fabrics and travel light. Instead try washing your clothes on the go. Most of the homestays and hotels provide laundry service.

Separate pouches serve separate purpose

While packing, make sure you have separate pouches or zip closures for every set of items. Medicines, toilet kit, sanitizers, cleansing wipes; all should be fit in separately.

Carry reusable water bottle

Carrying filled water bottles is indeed beneficial for travellers on the go but at the same time it increases the overall weight of the luggage. It is always advisable to carry an empty reusable bottle.
