After implementing stringent safety measures, Turkey was among the first few countries to open its borders for tourism. Around 11.9 million international visitors has visited Turkey in Jan till Sept 2020. The maximum number of tourist Turkey has received are from Russian Federation (1.4 million) followed by 9.1 lakh from Germany, 7.7 lakh from Ukraine and 7.2 lakh from UK, between January to September. Turkey has registered 38,000 arrivals from India out of which 30,000 travelled to Turkey from January to March 2020.
