It’s the time to disco as it has lots of significance, this Spring fashion. This spring, invest in coats and shirts which have big collars –fondly called as disco collars something similar to the trend in the 70s- and you are in vogue. The bigger the collar, the more stylish you will look. If you can pull off a trend coat with a big collared shirt, well, you are in a different league.
2020 is also the year of the shorts. In fact, the Bermuda shorts have taken the runaway of Spring 2020 by storm. They are the best thing to emerge this season from Ferragamo to Chanel.
Short suits are making an easy transition from the office wear to night outs. Melissa Chang, Design Manager, Ghim Li Global, Singapore explained the reason for short suits being indispensable in the wardrobe this fashion season, “Short suits are huge in trend now and they are no longer seen as casual. Trouser suit may seem a little too heavy for summer weathers so short suits are good options. If you wish for less reveal on the leg, you can opt for longer Bermuda lengths that hit over the knee.”
Are you just tired of the colours and finding ways to stand out in the crowd? Wear various shades of neon. Creations of Valentino and Christopher Kane ruled the fashion world. Other forms of green which also did the talking were pistachio and mint green. Should we call this a green revolution already?
Interestingly, neon also faces competition from tangerine orange at Spring 2020 shows. In fact, at the New York Fashion Week, brands like Tom Ford, Tanya Taylor, Maryam Nassir Zadeh opted for tangerine.
Better to keep some shirt dresses in the wardrobe too because they go comfortably in office and at party. This innately stylish creation is a winner on the ramp. Priyanka Chopra Jonas stepped out with her hubby Nick Jonas looking stylish in a shirt dress.
Melissa simplified, “the shirt dresses are becoming an essential piece in the wardrobe. You can wear it with a nice chic waist belt and pair it with slim jeans for a weekend look or change up to work wear just by the shoes and accessories.”
Meanwhile, high heel loafers are back this season. Team it with oversized florals and you are ready to go. Gone are the days of small purses. These days, we want a huge tote be it a Michael Kors or Prada under our arms.
Deck yourself up with big hoop earrings this season. Big hoop earrings never left the scene and this 2020 more colourful earrings will make a comeback. Single earring is also ruling the runaway this spring season.
Jewelleries are not just limited to ears, neck and so on. Even the shoes are decked up with chains. The shoe jewellery trend picked up in 2020. “We do see a lot of anklets built into heels and boots and they are statement pieces that will be great for Instagram stories/feed,” elucidated Melissa.
