As the global travel industry surges back with renewed energy, India set the tone in
February 2025 with two of its most dynamic travel trade events—SATTE in New
Delhi and IITM in Kolkata. These landmark gatherings not only showcased India’s
diverse tourism offerings but also fostered meaningful global collaborations, industry
insights, and innovative networking opportunities.
Held from February 14 to 16, 2025, the India International Travel Mart (IITM) in
Kolkata lived up to its legacy as one of India’s premier travel expos. Organized by
Rohit Hangal, Director of Sphere Travel media & Exhibitions, the event brought
together a rich mix of domestic and international tourism boards, hoteliers, airlines,
travel agents, and digital travel innovators.
“IITM continues to be a key platform for showcasing India’s regional tourism
strengths, fostering business opportunities, and connecting the industry at large,”
said Rohit Hangal, emphasizing the importance of travel marts in accelerating
India’s tourism goals.
This edition witnessed enthusiastic participation from state tourism boards,
international delegations, DMCs, hospitality brands, and travel technology
innovators. Among the standout exhibitors was the participation of TNM Global
Forum, a fast-growing consortium of travel professionals from across India and
abroad. Representing a wide network of Chapter Chairmen from Indian states and
Country Chairmen globally,
Also making a strong impact at the expo was the Department of Tourism, Jammu &
Kashmir, which presented the region’s scenic, cultural, and adventure-rich
destinations. Led by Mr. Owais Mushtaq, Additional Secretary, J&K Tourism, their
pavilion drew attention for its compelling visuals and immersive storytelling.
The inauguration ceremony witnessed participation from respected industry leaders,
including Mr. Sanjeev Mehra, President of Skal International India, and Mr. Manav
